    The Authentic Moroccan Experience

A Private Palais in the Heart of Marrakech

Opposite the historic Dar el Bacha Palace within the UNESCO-protected medina, lies Amanar. Once the residence of a minister to the Pacha of Marrakech, this heritage palais has been meticulously restored in reverence to Moroccan craftsmanship. More than a hotel, Amanar is an intimate cultural immersion — rooted in history, guided by tradition, and defined by quiet refinement.

Owned and managed by Austrian and Arab designers and hospitality experts, the property blends the warmth of both cultures with impeccable service and comfort, creating a truly luxurious experience.

A cozy bedroom with a pink bed, white pillows, and warm wall lighting. A pink chair, wooden side table with decorative items, and a white tufted bench near the bed. There is a fireplace with brick and decorative plasterwork, and colorful stained glass windows on the side.
A bathroom with pink walls, a round mirror reflecting multi-colored stained glass windows, a golden artisan sink with a gold faucet, a small mirror, a bottle of soap, a towel hanging on a gold bar, and a wooden cabinet with colorful textured glass panels in green, yellow, orange, and blue.

Discover the Ultimate in Comfort and Elegance

Each of Amanar’s ten rooms and suites is a sanctuary of Moroccan artistry and modern comfort. Ranging from cozy rooms to spacious suites, each is individually designed, with colors, textures, and details inspired by the treasures, spices, and textiles that once passed through Marrakech’s markets. Hand-carved cedarwood, smooth tadelakt walls, and subtle copper accents combine with plush textiles and intricate carpets, creating intimate retreats where craftsmanship and heritage are celebrated.

An Exclusive Address

Marrakech, the Red City — crossroads of caravans, palaces, and constellations. Amanar takes its name from the Amazigh word for the Pleiades — the stars that guided Berber travelers across mountains and deserts for centuries. Like them, the riad offers direction and calm at the heart of Marrakech, a hidden sanctuary in a location as rare as it is central.

Located in one of the medina’s most prestigious areas, Amanar offers direct car access — guests arrive and step out right at the door. The entrance faces the Mouassine district with its iconic landmark Le Jardin Secret. Our immediate neighbors include El Bacha Café, Les Jardins du Lotus, and Dar Moha.

Your Personal Retreat

Amanar offers shared spaces for guests to relax throughout the day, including a salon, a marble courtyard, and a zellige-tiled pool surrounded by plants. A complimentary breakfast is served each morning on the patio, with optional lunches and dinners prepared in-house using seasonal ingredients. Guests are welcome to spend time reading, resting, or swimming, with sunloungers available by the pool and shaded seating in the garden.

Ramadan Dinner

At sunset, Amanar invites you to experience Ramadan in its most authentic form. The holy month is a time of reflection, prayer, and togetherness, marked by fasting from dawn until sunset.

With the call to prayer, the fast is broken and families gather for iftar. Our seasonal menu honors this tradition, beginning with dates — traditionally served in an odd number — and freshly squeezed orange juice, followed by harira, Morocco’s iconic soup.

The evening continues with a curated selection of Moroccan specialties, celebrating the warmth, generosity, and festive spirit of the season.
